Heritage Open Day
All are welcome to come along to the church on 20th September as we support the annual Devon Historic Churches Trust (DHCT) Open Day. DHCT provides grants for churches across Devon like ours to help with maintenance costs, a very important cause.
The church will be open from 10am until 4pm and Michael Gee (BEM) will be on hand to give informative talks on the building.

Mothering Sunday service

St Paul's renovation work
St Paul's is in need of some renovation work, the most pressing of which is the need to deal with weed growth on the tower. Further work on the tower is required and we are also planning to install electric heating and, eventually, a toilet.

Grant award
We are very pleased to announce that we have been awarded a grant of £5000 from the Diocese of Exeter’s Net Zero Carbon ‘Quick Wins’ fund. The money will go towards the installation of a three-phase electricity supply to enable the source of the church’s heating to be converted from gas to net-zero electricity. We are grateful to the Diocese for awarding us this grant.
A visit from Australia
At our service on 12th January, we were pleased to welcome a group of four visitors from Australia. Wendy Allan had contacted Cathy in advance of their arrival to explain that they wished to see the grave of her great-great-grandmother, Elizabeth Anne Golding, who died on 24th December 1879. Hazel had located the grave in the churchyard, enabling the visitors to pay their respects. Wendy was accompanied by Stephen Allan, Margaret Young and Dorothy Watters.
